One thing I’ve noticed when comparing graphics performance is that average FPS doesn’t always tell the whole story. A system might report a high average frame rate but still feel noticeably uneven if individual frames are taking inconsistent amounts of time to render.

An **Online FPS Test Frame Rate Tool: https://onlinefpstest.com/ can be useful for getting a quick indication of frame-rate performance, but it’s worth looking beyond the headline FPS number when troubleshooting stuttering. Frame pacing and frame-time consistency can reveal problems that an average measurement may hide.

For example, if a system averages 60 FPS but occasionally has significant frame-time spikes, those spikes can appear as brief pauses or stutters. Reducing graphics settings, closing background applications, or checking system temperatures can help determine what is contributing to the variation.

When comparing two configurations, I think it’s also important to test them under the same conditions. Using the same resolution, workload, and settings makes the results much more meaningful than comparing unrelated benchmark runs.

What do you usually look at when diagnosing inconsistent graphics performance: average FPS, frame times, 1% lows, or something else?
