true (if the device in question allows flashing custom images ie non-verified or -sign images using spft) but you should also note that on recent android versions the chances are you'll brick the phone if you flash custom images without unlocking bootloader as a locked bootloader will always attempt to verify the integrity of OS before booting

Hi, I ported a TWRP recovery for my Ulefone note 7 running android 9, but I can't get fastboot to work on this phone to flash the vbmeta.img. How can I flash the vbmeta using spflash tool?

help already try patching the boot .img but the view dm_verity is not found to change hexadecimal values and I do not know what to do , I have android 9.0 I do this to be able to install roms gsi

you don't need to patch boot for this in android 9
rather. flash empty vbmeta (method 3) @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html to remove dm_verity

I get this error after flashing twrp using sp flash tool; please download recovery image with correct signature error
However, if i flash back the stock recovery, it fixes it. What can i do to successfully flash twrp with spft with no errors.
My phone is tecno camon 12 cc7
