Hi,
I need TWRP or CWM for my device Smart Coral II Android 6.0 (MT6580 512 RAM and 8GB Storage I guess) to install SuperSU and root my device.
The Stock recovery.img and Scatter file:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-G7bK...0FyWXZ4NVU

If you don't mind, I like to know what should be done if I bought another mobile and wanted to create a compatible TWRP/CWM to root.

Thanks in Advanced

Here's Philz recovery for your phone @ https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4S-Z72...VoRDg/view
Follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16952.html but using your recovery
Once rooted, upload a screenshot of root verification using root checker @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...heck&hl=en

Thanks for the recovery, it was successfully installed and temporarily fixed my IMEI for whatever reason, but after installing SuperSU.zip the device reboots once before rebooting normally without rooting my device and IMEI was gone again.

I did refuse Philz recovery to apply root when asked before rebooting and after insalling SuperSU and confirming the installation. I even tried different versions of SuperSU.zip to see if Philz recovery can install it properly & accepting Philz recovery to apply root to no success.

Does it have anything to do with unlocking the Bootloader and enabling the OEM unlocking feature before all these procedures? Cause I've unlocked my Bootloader before.

Thanks again

I don't think it has anything to do with your Bootloader status.
1. What versions of supersu did you use?
2. Have you tried launching an app that requires root access to confirm root status?
3. There are other methods to fix IMEI without root @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-116.html sofar your phone has a valid Baseband

1- SuperSU version 1.91, 2.67 and the latest one 2.79
2- Yes, the Root Checker app, SuperSU itself and ES File Explorer
3- Thanks, Maui META method worked for me. Just an opinion, if you can add in the methods which one needs root and which doesn't that would be great, and to be more useful add how big the needed files are for people knowing which one will take less time downloading them since you guys have mentioned a lot of methods and that's excellent, Well Done.

If I check to verify MD5, an error comes up:
MD5 Check: error

If it relates to why it's not rooting my phone

Yep, it's the one mentioned in the thread you sent https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16952.html

That's the first one I tried, and the others are the ones that I mentioned as being "different versions"

I've encountered MT6580 acting this way. Keep trying different versions of SuperSU, one might work

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the Philz recovery image that you ported for my specific mobile.
I did root my device at last after many hours of searching the net and downloading few SuperSU versions which I tried out (only 4 to 5 versions when I gave up because it wasn't an easy task to find old versions Big Grin).
However, I felt that if I'm going to continue like this I won't be able to root my device, and thank God I had such a feeling Smile.
I searched the internet for "root mtk6580 android 6.0" and the first YouTube link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTeuF4uJ6lU
was the way to go with some extra steps I done myself because of Bootloop Smile.
So after I done the steps explained in the YouTube and downloading the same boot.img mentioned from the following link (shamu-mra58k-boot.zip):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/su...w-t3219344
I flashed the boot.img, used your compatible Philz recovery to install BETA-SuperSU-v2.66-20160103015024.zip which I grabbed from the xda site by Chainfire, I faced my bootloop, Flashed my stock boot.img for the phone to boot properly but it didn't work, so I flashed the same SuperSU version again from Philz Recovery and this time it booted properly and the Root Checker app took longer this time to give an error saying that root is not properly installed.
SuperSU had an update for it's binaries (after updating the binaries Root Checker quickly asked for Root privilege and made me happy saying root is successfully installed) but after restarting I couldn't find the SuperSU app as a proper Icon so I had to download the latest apk from PlayStore which then I was able to see SuperSU properly installed with my rooted device.

Update: After trying to install Xposed on my device I was forced to factory flash my device and lost my root since I didn't do a backup before Xposed, and from then I tried various ways to root my device to no success whatsoever, even my above steps didn't work. So I searched how to modify boot.img to root Android Marshmallow and found the following YouTube link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTodcViKw7I&app=desktop
After modifying my boot.img following the steps in the link I was able to root my device again by flashing SuperSU v2.68 (cause the latest SuperSU v2.79 didn't work, even though Root Checker didn't give me a message that my device is not rooted and tried to get Root Privilege from SuperSU but SuperSU was force closing for whatever reason). Just wanted to update my adventures Tongue.
