error code: 0x99256658
Occurs both with seccfg locked and unlocked.
BROM/DA/UFS/GPT are all still fully accessible via mtkclient — device is not hard-bricked, connection is stable and reliable.
What happened:
Was migrating between official firmware versions (F.11 Android 12 → C.16 Android 11) via mtkclient. During cleanup, the following partitions were erased:
opporeserve1, opporeserve2, opporeserve3
special_preload
my_custom
boot_para, my_engineering, proinfo (and a few standard ones: userdata/metadata/cache)
opporeserve2 has since been successfully restored by flashing the file from the official C.16 OFP package (confirmed via SHA256 read-back match) — did not fix the boot issue on its own, but ruled it out as the (sole) cause.
Root cause identified:
Checked the scatter files from both F.11 and C.16 official OFP packages. For special_preload and my_custom, both show:
So neither official firmware package contains real data for these two partitions — they're factory-provisioned only and are never part of any OTA/OFP package. This matches what's documented in the RMX2155 bootloader-unlock guide here on XDA, which explicitly instructs to exclude these exact 4 partitions (opporeserve2, special_preload, my_custom, cdt_engineering) when flashing via SP Flash Tool.
I had a partial local backup of special_preload (head+tail, 1MB each) but confirmed via hash that it's just zeroed data (already erased before the backup was taken) — so no usable backup exists locally.
WHAT I NEED:
Does anyone have a working Realme 7 RMX2155, GDPR/EUEX (EU) variant who could dump these two partitions via mtkclient (read-only, ~2 minutes total)?
python mtk.py r special_preload special_preload.bin
python mtk.py r my_custom my_custom.bin
Happy to compare getprop output first (ro.product.model, ro.oppo.regionmark, vendor.gsm.project.baseband — looking for 20682) to confirm exact variant match before anyone goes through the trouble.
Any file host (Google Drive / MEGA / Mediafire etc.) works fine — a SHA256 of the file alongside would be appreciated so I can verify integrity after download.
