Hi all,
My Tecno Pova 4 (LG7n) is stuck in a bootloop after flashing a crDroid GSI. Chip is MT6789/Helio G99. Phone is alive and responds fine at BROM/Preloader level, so I know it's recoverable - just blocked on authentication.
Device info from BROM:
- CPU: MT6789/MT8781V (MTK Helio G99)
- SBC enabled: True
- SLA enabled: False
- DAA enabled: True
- Target config: 0xe5
What I have:
- Your [Hovatek]_Tecno_Pova_4_LG7N_(LG7n-H892ABCD-S-GL-221010V1008) firmware package, thank you for that - scatter/flash.xml, DA_BR.bin, and full partition images
- SP Flash Tool V6.2404 and mtkclient, both installed and working correctly (drivers, USB, everything confirmed functional)
The problem: the download_agent folder in that package only has DA_BR.bin, flash.xml, and flash.xsd - no auth file.
- In SP Flash Tool, I get: "error_msg: BROM said that Need AUTH file."
- In mtkclient, trying to connect/bypass gives: "[LIB]: Auth file is required. Use --auth option" followed by "upload_data failed with error: DAA_Security_Error (0x7017)" - same error code others have reported on MT6789/Helio G99 in mtkclient's GitHub issues, so I understand this may be an unresolved limitation on this chip for the free bypass method.
What I'm hoping for:
- A matching auth file for this exact model/build (LG7n-H892ABCD-S-GL-221010V1008), if anyone has one, OR
- Any known working alternative method for this specific model/eFuse config
Happy to provide IMEI or any other details needed. Really appreciate any pointers - this is my daily driver and I'd rather fix it properly than guess with mismatched files.
