Hi, I just bought a Sonim XP7S that would like to root. But before doing that I'd like to make a full firmware backup just in case. I'm new to Qualcomm devices, so I ask:

1. is there anything like WWR MTK to do that?
2. If I cannot make a firmware backup of my device is there a firmware around I can download?
3. Is there a TWRP recovery compatible with my device? (I see z2_row in the description below. Do I have to assume that TWRP recovery for the Zuk  z2_row is compatible?)

I'm asking here after I've done some unsuccessful search around the net.

Here are the specs of my device:

Brand: Sonimtech; Model: XP7s;
Hardware: Qualcomm
Platform: msm8916
Chipset: MSM8939
Android version: 5.1.1
Firmware version: 111
Baseband version: MPSS.DPM.2.0.2.c1.4-00057-M8936FAAAANUZM-1.59240.1-Jun 7 2016
Description: z2_row-user 7.0 NRD90M 2.5.435_170525 release-keys
Serial number: b11bde5e
Root: No
Full memory of ROM (EMMC_USER): 0xE8F800000 (59640 MB)
Full memory of ROM (EMMC_RPMB): 0x400000 (4 MB)
By-name: /dev/block/platform/7824900.sdhci/by-name

Thank you so much.
Mike

Ok. I was able to solve questions 1 and 2 (I learned how to use Miracle box). So I made a backup and rooted successfully the phone. Now I only need some help for the TWRP custom recovery.

Thank you
Mike
