How did the problem start?
Did you try wiping the phone in recovery mode?

I've seen that before and ignored it for the fear of bricking my tab cos it's android 4.4.2
Or will it work?

You need to dump your phone's firmware as @innagee said so that you can use it to find out the phone's build number. this will help in searching for a firmware to use
