Important Notice
  • On Odin interface, the following has been changed on newer versions of Odin
    Bootloader > BL
    PDA > AP
    Phone > CP
    CSC > CSC
  • It's important you only flash firmware for your device or you could run into problems not only on Odin but also on the device
  • Choosing CSC will wipe your data while HOME_CSC will not wipe your data
  • BL = Bootloader
  • CP = Modem
  • AP= OS (boot, recovery, system etc)
  • CSC Country Specific Code / Consumer Software Customization = Region / carrier-specific customizations
  • USERDATA= Userdata

Quote:In this video tutorial, I'll be explaining how to flash firmware to a Samsung Android device using Odin.
First you need to have Odin,
you need to know how to boot into Download Mode,
you need to have installed drivers whether using KIES or Smart Switch and you also need to have the firmware for your model,
I'll link to guides on all these.
Now, once you've done these, you launch Odin.
You click OK. now, depending on the kind of firmware you're flashing and your model, the content might vary.
You might have a single file or you might have multiple files.
If its a single file, like old models, you just load that to the AP but for multiple files like this one I'm flashing here,
you load them to their respective partitions.
I'll load BL to BL, and the rest like that.
Now, for CSC, you'll notice that you have two CSCs in your firmware.
Home CSC, when you select that, its not going to wipe your phone but normal CSC is going to wipe.
I want to do a clean flash so I'll select regular CSC.
Now you boot the device into Download mode and then you connect to the PC.
You should have detection up here, then you click Start.
So now you can disconnect and boot up.
That's how to use Odin to flash firmware to your Samsung device.

I have a Latin American P1000n Phablet. I rooted it and lost the touchscreen function. I then followed these instructions to restore factory Gingerbread and now have a blank screen. The tablet stills powers on and off and even goes into Download mode. I assume this because I can still use ODIN3 and flash the files again. But still have the black screen. HELP plz.

ThxConfused

@buddym, did you use the ROM files in the guide or you downloaded the stock ROM from another source?

IMPORTANT! For this guide, i'll be using the Samsung Galaxy P1000 as example so ensure to download the firmware for your specific phone type.

Now lets get your Bricked Samsung Android phone working.

Procedure :
1. Install KIES on your PC
2. Turn off the tab (hold down power button till it goes off)
3. Unzip ODIN3 v1.7 and launch it
4. Click on the PDA and select the PDA you just downloaded
5. Clink on the PIT and select - gt-p1000_mr_PIT
6. Check only RE-PARTITION, "uncheck auto reboot and f.reset time"
7. in your tab press and hold "VOLUME DOWN AND POWER BUTTON"
8. If DOWNLOADING APPEAR leave it like that
9. Now, connect you tab in computer
10. If ODIN detects your phone PRESS START in ODIN
11. Wait for it until success, after that disconnect your tab
* NOTE
- If for an instance it gets stuck at downloading mode but you have already finished flashing, do not worry, you just have to manually hold the power button for it to boot up, it might get into recovery, so please reboot the system .
- If you boot into recovery, it might be a touch recovery so tap the home touch key to continue

12. If it keeps on booting or gets stuck at "samsung", do not worry, you are not done yet with the restocking procedure, so please proceed to the next step)
13. Press and hold power button until it will turn off
14. Open ODIN3 v1.7 again
15. UNCHECK it all "re-partition, auto reboot, f.reset time"
16. Click on the PDA and select dbdata.zip
17. Press and hold "VOLUME DOWN AND POWER BUTTON" again
18. If DOWNLOADING APPEAR leave it like that
19. Now, connect your tab again
20. If ODIN detects your phone, PRESS START in ODIN
21. Wait for it until success, after that disconnect your tab
* NOTE
- Again, if it is stuck on downloading mode but you have successfully done the flashing, hold power key to turn the tab on
- If it keeps on booting to "samsung" again, proceed to the next step
22. This time we will go to CLOCKWORKMOD by holding "VOLUME UP and POWER BUTTON"
23. Wipe data, and wipe cache, (volume keys to scroll up or down, and home touch key to select) and reboot system, wait for a minute or two and home screen will now appear)
Your Samsung Android should start working normally again
* NOTE
- When there is an error for example that flashed on your tab screen like a color red "E:\ " something like that, do not worry, it is the external sd card so just let it be, wait until it finishes
