I am trying to make a dumb kids phone with only basic apps. I am going to root the device and remove smart apps like playstore and browser. Thats all OK. But the problem is that any smart kid can just sideload all that smart stuff back on there with APKs.
So my question is how do I block all app installation?
IS there a way to disable, lockdown, password protect or remove this ability in Android?
Any help would be great. I have searched the web and can't find any great answers.
I hear a lot about the package installer but not a solution!
I saw this article on XDA https://xdaforums.com/t/block-app-installation.4080929/ but there never seemed to be a satisfactory answer given.
Does anybody know a solution????

You can set up the device in kiosk mode using third-party apps available on the Play Store. If the device is rooted, you can uninstall the package installer for better control. Ensure you back up the phone's firmware before making any modifications.

i don't really like the kiosk thing.
I heard that if you remove the package installer it boot loops

The safer way is to use parental control Apps. You can also try Google Family Link App, Norton Family, and Kidslox
