Is this process possible?
How do I get the DA and authentication files?

You can try MTK Client, backup current firmware before downgrading.

Thanks. I have another issue. I used the method of disabling DLA and SLA to use sp flashtool to flash the firmware, in the process i had to disable storage life cycle in spft, the process was a success but the device didn't power on, so I had to reflash the current firmware with mtk client, the device still refuses to power on. Any way to proceed?

Fixed above issue, so device successfully boots to android 9 but when turning on it says orange state. Is this something to worry about?

Orange State is not a problem so far the device boots.
No need to relock the bootloader and you should avoid relocking bootloader after unlocked
