I attempted to downgrade my Alcatel 1 5033D (2021) from Android 11 to the stock firmware of the Alcatel 1 5033D (2019) Android 8.1. I followed the same steps as someone on xda who succeeded with this process. I used mtkclient to unlock the bootloader because it was locked. After that, I downloaded the stock ROM from AlcatelFirmware. However, when using fastboot flash, I encountered errors like "unknown chunk type" and "sparse image size span overflow."
I then tried using the mtkclient GUI. I selected the directory of the ROM I had downloaded, renamed all the .img files to .bin, and clicked on "write partitions." This process completed without errors, but my phone now has a black screen and doesn't respond to any button combinations, including holding down volume and power buttons or removing and reinserting the battery.
The good news is that mtkclient can still detect the phone in bootrom mode, and I can still perform all operations like flashing and erasing.
My question is: should I consider the phone as bricked, or is there a way to get it working again? If reverting to Android 11 is the only solution, I would prefer to discard the device, as I specifically need it to run Android 8.1.
Thanks for any help!

There are many variables at play from your narration and many ways things could go sideways when doing a downgrade like this (11 to 8.1).
You first need to unbrick by reverting to the Android 11 ROM then take a measured retry. Only then can you know what's different about your device or what you might've done wrong.

The 2019 and 2021 are different models so a full firmware flash would brick.
