Hello, I am writing this post to ask for help and/or ideas for what I could do here:
So I picked up a Honor V40 phone, and wanted to root it (with magisk or apatch, doesnt matter) to possibly install gapps to make it more usable, but I am met with a problem - no matter what I do, phone fails verification and does not boot. I did try multiple solutions like patching boot.img; patching ramdisk.img; patching recovery.img etc., flashed empty vbmeta but still no luck, it always fails verification. I unlocked it's bootloader with MTKClient. Partition back ups are made, and uploaded here: [ Login to download]
So my main question is: what should I do now? I tried auto TWRP builder but it fails in building process. Tried some magisk versions but no luck either. Apatch did not work.
For what you have, some modifications need to be made before you can upload the modified recovery image (it's in the FAQs section of the TWRP builder page under "What I have is recovery_ramdisk.img (image type recovery.img) but it fails at building tree")
Modified recovery_ramdisk: [ Login to download]
WorkID: d87jMLtzqkO7moFgLEOI (valid for 7 days)
You might need to rebuild and indicate your touch drivers (if touch doesn't work or you encounter bugs)
