Hello! Lately I have been trying to flash the firmware of my Tecno Pova 3 LF7 device.

Previously I installed the GSI rom using Platforms Tools, being successful, although after time I want to install the latest version of my device's firmware.

I tried with SP Flash Tool but I had problems since my device has Secure Boot and I cannot do the Auth Bypass by any Multitool, since I cannot access the BROM, only the Preloader.

Now I tried to do the method of deactivating the security through the MTK Client with the command "python mtk payload" but when I put the command and connect my device while holding both volume buttons, it gives me this error:

Preloader - [LIB]: ←[31mStatus: Handshake failed, retrying...←[0m

So I can't do anything to flash the firmware...

I would like someone to guide me, I would greatly appreciate it.

(18-05-2024, 08:57 PM)Exoduss So how could I flash my device? Impossible?

The problem is crashing to BROM. It seems you're running on a version that has disabled this.
Try these methods

You have the firmware right? Share a screenshot of all its contents

Hello! If I have the firmware for my Tecno Pova 3, below I share the documents contained in it.

By the way, I couldn't do the solution that you shared with me to be able to bypass the problems, I don't know what to do to be able to flash my phone.

This is factory firmware.
Based on what you have said, your device isn't yet bricked so you could downgrade the firmware using fastboot after which BROM exploit should work again. But flashing the latest firmware would disable BROM exploit.

Approximately a month ago I installed a GSI rom, through fastboot through the Platform Tools SDK.

So which files would I have to flash using fastboot to perform the Downgrade? Only the boot.img and the super.img?

So, look.. You're not going to like this painstaking answer but if you can't get into Brom mode, can't use MTKClient, and can't use SPFlash Tools then it may be your only answer without a paid tools.

Flash each individual partition file through Platform-Tools (adb and fastboot).

You can either do this manually by entering the command to flash each individual partition file such as:

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img

fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img

fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img

Etc...

You see what I'm saying? You can still flash the firmware. Just perform a factory data reset after completion of flashing the entire firmware.

However, there is a tool that can help you during this process to speed things up a bit. It's called Fastboot Enhance. It's a flash tool designed to work purely with fastboot in both bootloader and fastboot.

Download Fastboot Enhance Here (download is under releases at the bottom of the page):
https://github.com/libxzr/FastbootEnhance

I hope this helps. Cheers!

Excluding preloader, you can check your scatter file using notepad++ for those partitions that have is_download set to true then flash those using fastboot. Its best you significantly downgrade (not to close to your current build version) so you have better chance of BROM working again.
if that fails then you need to try paid tools
