Hello Forum, Berillio here, Android Newbie, (PCs..I go back to DOS times); with a problem.
I tried to search this forum for a solution, but the search engine did not seem to work with Chrome or Opera – odd because I stumbled here because Google saw a post regarding the same tablet ( but  the owner was NOT a newbie like me)
The title of the post says it all, below there is the VERBOSE version with the full story

I have a HUAWEI MediaPad M3, BAH-L09, which was running Android 7, not sure which EMUI (5.1?). I had a 128gb microSD replaced later by a 256gb card (I saw conflicting tablet reviews, some said that the M3 would support only to 128gb, some said up to 256gb. I tried that, and it seemed to work), no SIM, working 90% of the time on WiFi with the occasional HotSpot from the phone, mostly used for WhatsApp or other (telegram) convos. Perfectly happy with it, but the battery was giving up the ghost.
Saturday the 24th of February I replaced the battery, switched the tablet back on, it seemed to be working fine, I had a ~20mins video call on WhatApp, then I loaded a
6 hours long video to drain the battery so I could give it a full 0% to 100% charge which supposedly would calibrate it.
When later I went back to it, the tablet was obvioulsy off, but when I plugged in the charger, instead of booting up as expected, after the Android logo I saw an EMUI screen never seen before, with 3 or 4 options: Go online to Recovery, Factory Reset (maybe?), Reboot, Switch off (I think – not really sure). I let it go online, it found the modem, connected  (how would it know the passwod? It had access to the WiFi config files? whatever) went to 5% and it got stuck trying to access http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore
but failing to do so. I tried few times with no success, so I left it overnight on the charger, the battery would have been almost flat anyway.
Next morning the EMUI screen changed a little: only one option (Reboot) and now it said “Software install fail, get help from…”  (same link as above) That link sems to be dead, I don’t seem to be able to get access to emui.com at all. I tried VPNs from Russia, India and HongKong, it seems dead everywhere.
I tried to install HUAWEI HiSuite hoping that it would help. I tried 17 different builds from 4.0.7.300 to 13.0.0.310 to no avail, none of them supports recovery from a BAH-L09 – Infact I have the feeling that HiSuite could not even access the tablet via the USB port: as far as I remember, the Developer Options and USB debugging was ON – but I do not know  if that is still the case (but why did the tablet go in recovey mode and what else has changed because of that?). It certainly could not “see” any file structure.
I came across many reference to “fastboot”, but I NEVER managed to enter it (I actually only saw pictures of the android robot). Power button + Volume down does not do anything . Just a dab on PWR+ Volume down is equally uneffective ; I saw an HARDRESETINFO vid which said volume down only, tried that too and also Volume up, basically the tablet is totally unresponsive to anything but the PWR button, but 3 or 4 seconds of PWR button pressing simply reboots it
It may well be that HiSuite cannot do anything because it expects to find the tablet in fastboot, and I cannot manage to get there.
I contacted HUAWEY which said that they would collect it and return it free of charge, but would WIPE OUT all the contents,(which is hardly my favourite option),.plus a fee for recovery, yet to be quantified.
I copied the content of SD card, but I do not really know how much data is kept on the card and how much is still on the onboard storage, hence my unwillingness to have the tablet wiped out clean, if that can be at all avoided.
This is the situation at moment.
As I said, I never played with any android devices, never rooted them, I simply used them as they were, and actually never had an OS problem until now. So I do not know any recovery procedure which could be used (if there is a “stock” one), neither I know how much that could be different between different devices and/or Android versions.
Basically I need either a link to a “general” solution, or one to applies to the BAH-L09  if someone else had a similar issue ( but is also a noob like me).
I would be perfectly happy to have the tablet as before ( I was only changing the battery after all).
Many thanks in advance, apologies for the verbosity, but maybe it’s better to have a full clear picture at the very start.. Cheers, Berillio

EDL would have been a good way to fix it by joining EDL test points but I don't think you can do that.
can you share pictures of the screen(s) you're stuck in
