I was trying to reflash my mtk6739-based hpp-l55b with both mtkclient `rf` and `wf` as well as different versions of sp_flash_tool and different settings within it, and I seem to have possibly generated a flash image that bricks the phone beyond reflashing when flashed with `mtk wf`. This surprises me because I only expected `mtk wf` to write to the user data region and not the boot region.
I have two of these phones now, that when connected to a computer do not show as a USB device and are not noticed by flash_tool, and do not boot when the power button is pressed, leaving me unsure how to proceed with them. One of them is practically brand new, but I after I flashed the image from the other bricked phone, it is now also bricked.
The devices do show a red LED when plugged in.
My question is, do you have any idea how I might pursue recovering these phones?
I'm also curious if you know what I might be careful of to protect against it happening again.
I do also experience other device misbehaviors and sometimes worry my worksystems could have malware on them; not sure how important this is.

It would have been nice to know what your goal is. Are the bootloaders of both phones unlocked?
