I have been trying to unbrick a Xiaomi MI A2 phone using QFIL, but always get Sahara fail error. I have tried all six suggested fixes in https://www.hovatek.com/blog/how-to-fix-...r-in-qfil/ but still get the error. As the bootloader is locked I get into EDL mode by the test point method.
I have also tried MI Flash and the error there is can not read from port COM5.
Can anyone help and suggest what might be causing the errors?

Further to my post above I have since been able to flash MI 6X (wayne) firmware using MI Flash tool, but the phone still seems to be bricked. A MI logo appears on the screen for a few seconds then a white line progresses across the screen with numbers above counting from zero to 99.99% then stops.
I can get into Fastboot and a few commands are available, however I can't flash anything as the bootloader is locked.
Please help if you can.

I've now worked out how to use QFIL without errors and have tried various MI 6X stable and developer firmware, but still getting the same result as described above.
Could the phone have a hardware fault?

Are you using No Auth firehose?

Thank you maxpayne for your response.Yes I'm now using No Auth firehose files and so able to flash successfully with QFIL. However still not able to unbrick the phone as described in my 2nd post. See attached images. Do you think that there is a hardware problem?

Boot into recovery mode and factory reset

Unfortunately recovery mode is not available via buttons, and I can't boot anything in fastboot mode because the bootloader is locked

Are the firmware you've flashed for your phone's region? i.e Global, India, China, etc

I don't know what region the phone was originally. When I received the phone it was MI A2 (jasmine) and was stuck with an animated colored circle in the middle of the screen with erasing written underneath. After trying to flash various jasmine firmware I must have triggered ARB and the phone changed to MI 6X (wayne). So from then on I've been trying various versions of Chinese wayne firmware with the same result.
I have since tried flashing global jasmine firmware again and the phone goes into permanent edl mode with black screen, but can be reverted back to the current condition by flashing wayne firmware.

Is there anything else I could try to overcome this problem?
