Hello, and good day to the @Hovatek family!
Before I dive in, I'd like to ask if there's a better process: dump ROM, root (using Magisk), restore Titanium backup (app + AppData) from old phone, restore contacts, restore settings (com.backupyourmobile), enjoy new phone.

As the subject/title of thread says in this post, I would like to dump the ROM of a Huawei Nova 3i, and root kt, so I could restore data from a Gionee M6 device. Below are the specs of my Huawei.
(note: I'm being extra careful, seeing as there is no copy of the stock ROM here -- https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13012.html)

Device name: HUAWEI Nova 3i
Model: INE-LX1
Build number: 9.1.0.316(C185E1R1P1)
EMUI ver.: 9.1.0
Android ver.: 9
CPU: Hisilicon Kirin 710
Kernel version: 4.9.148 android@localhlst#1...

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your help!

firstly, you can't backup from hisilicon devices (unless maybe some hardware box / dongle tool such octoplus, e.t.c. now supports this feature), you can however search online for the same firmware though e.g @ https://drive.google.com/uc?export=downl...Rn8q0N33To (download at your discretion, it says no password from where it was found)
secondly, huawei doesn't provide bootloader unlock codes anymore, you'd either need to search for some paid service that does or use a tool such as hcu client (dongle) to unlock bootloader via test point method
then you can proceed with rooting using the boot.img or ramdisk.img from within the firmware above, backup/restore.... e.t.c

Speaking of which,... what tools do I need for flashing this kind of device?

(11-09-2021, 11:43 AM)X3non ...you can however search online for the same firmware though e.g @ https://drive.google.com/uc?export=downl...Rn8q0N33To (download at your discretion, it says no password from where it was found)...
I got some results online, none with exact same build number.
1. https://www.dmrepairtech.com/2020/12/ine...nload.html (INE-LX1 9.1.0.316(C185E1R1P1T8)_Firmware_EMUI9.1.0_05015JEH File By (Support.HalabTech.Com).rar)
2. https://www.needromarab.com/9679/INE-LX1...0-05015FSG (from https://www.needromarab.com/model.php?q=INE-LX1) [https://mega.nz/file/kLpyyYgK#9ZyERSSAVx...2jzBNHbNQ8 OR https://drive.google.com/u/0/uc?id=1jjbF...t=download]
3. https://firmwarefile.com/huawei-nova-3i-ine-lx1 (Huawei_Nova_3i_INE-LX1_1.0.0.53_8.1.0_R1_EMUI8.2_05022NNB_8.1.0_HMT_(by_huaweistockrom.com).zip)

That is very unfortunate... How does the 'hcu client (dongle)' method work? Do I need the box or just software from https://hcu-client.com?
I didn't like Samsung delaying it for 20 days (more or less), but Huawei allowing users to request from company, and simply discontinuing it is worse.

extract the firmware, copy the dload folder (containing upfate.app) to your sdcard
power off the phone and use the forced update method @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-485.html (the 3 buttons might differ per device e.g on some it's vol up + vol down + power button to start the firmware installation process)

...

did you check the link i shared? it has same build number like yours

according to their post, you need the dongle. you can verify properly by contacting their support team for how it's done

probably the reason nobody really wants a huawei these days

(11-09-2021, 08:02 PM)Detective_Khalifah The test point method is new to me

testpoint involves connecting two points on the pcb (using any conductive maaterial) before connecting the phone to the pc through USB for proper detection

It also has the extra 'T8' at the end, like most others I found online -- 9.1.0.316(C185E1R1P1T8)

I'll definitely do that

(13-09-2021, 10:19 AM)X3non probably the reason nobody really wants a huawei these days

I can understand why... Luckily I was able to restore most data using Helium

That must be why I saw PCB printouts on HalabTech. Unfortunately, most of the tools there are paid for.

you can try extracting the firmware using huawei update extractor @XDA, then use method 7 (if your device has no recovery.img the use boot.img) @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16005.html to verify the build number if T8 is part of the build number
