Rooting Issue

Hi. X3non after much try. I still can't get root. I downloaded a stock firmware close to my Hot 7 Pro. X625C-H576AB-P-200528V337

My hot 7 Pro is X625C-H576AB-P-201203V409 almost same.
Following the steps here, I get the boot.img from the download firmware and patch using (Magisk 23. Latest) and use cmd to flash, it finish okay.... But no root
I then read that magisk may not see ramdisk... Mine says No.. So I now took the recovery.img again and patch, then flash again using fast boot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
All to no avail.. (My recovery did not even boot again which is supposed to show no command)
I discovered that the download firmware X625C-H576AB-P-200528V337 has
boot and boot-verified
recovery and recovery-verified all same size and some other .img and it's verified as well

Pls I need your help to get root.

you should have made a backup of your firmware and used the boot.img from your current build rather than using a different build
i'll suggest that you flash the full firmware from this firmware you download, that should get your phone to the same build as the firmware, then you can use it's boot.img to attempt rooting (ofc after unlocking bootloader / disabling dm_verity again)

BTW, to boot to recovery mode after patching recovery you need a different approach as explained @ https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob...n-recovery

When i use spflash tool to flash the downloaded firmware it gives me Error 0XC0060003: ERROR: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL (0XC0060003) so i tried Fastboot to flash all the .img files. Including the system,recovery and boot but still my version is still v409
I even tried to backup using tutorial (wwr tool and spflash tool) custom DA to do readback Rom_0 still showing me Error 0XC0060003: ERROR: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL (0XC0060003)

I also read about vbmeta to disable it. I don't know if vbmeta is same for all device, and if so, how about if I want to enable it to flash other roms. Pls I need your assistance, Thanks

if you're using SP flash tool, use mtk bypass @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-37957.html

to disable dm_verity, you need to flash empty vbmeta ; see method 3 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html

Cuz am still looking for a way to backup my own firmware. Or to Flash the one I downloaded.. So I can use it boot.img

The empty vbmeta is in .bin not .img

generally for mtk, use empty unless on the rare occassion where empty bricks the device then it'll be to try custom

your can backup using wwr mtk guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html
when using SP flash tool for readback, ensure to first use mtk bypass @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-37957.html (once bypass is successful then you can proceed with the readback operation)

But the empty vbmeta in .bin not .img
