This is a follow-up of this post.

My phone displays the orange state warning as described here at boot, but also if it is turned off and connected to a charger. I can't turn the screen off, and the device does not boot after 5 seconds, despite the warning.
I can turn on and off my phone just fine, no bootloop, nothing like that.

But I suspect my phone does not charge when powered off because of that error message, and have no clue how to address it.
If I follow the patch and edit lk.img as described here, then the error message is not displayed anymore, but the screen still turns on and display that battery symbol when plugged turned off.

Any help much appreciated!

was the phone in this condition when you first bought it?
how did this problem begin?
what's the device model?
have you tried flashing full stock firmware?
also you don't need to suspect if the device charges or not when you can confirm if it does, note the present battery state then switch off and charge for a few minutes then power back on and check if the battery increased or remains the same

Thanks for your message, and sorry for the late answer.

> was the phone in this condition when you first bought it?

Nope, it started when I installed LineageOS, I believe.

> how did this problem begin?

I've played with this phone quite a bit, going from the official rom, to some custom rom, to lineage-16.0 back to the official rom, and finally to lineage-17.0. I'm not able to tell when precisely this started.

> what's the device model?

Blackview BV 5500 Pro

> have you tried flashing full stock firmware?

Nope. I suspect the issue would go away, but haven't tested.

> also you don't need to suspect if the device charges or not when you can confirm if it does, note the present battery state then switch off and charge for a few minutes then power back on and check if the battery increased or remains the same

You're right, that was stupid: I've tested, and it does charge. I suspect more slowly than if it was turned in (weirdly enough), but it does charge.
