Hello guys,

I hope you're all doing great. Your work is much appreciated.

Please could you walk me through a proven method of rooting the seemingly stubborn Gionee S10b?

Why I want to root?

Well, first, I need to install gapps properly, and, second, the device contains numerous bloatware that I would love to uninstall.

Thanks in anticipation of a favourable response.

Did you unlock the phone’s bootloader? Refer to https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
Do you have the phone’s firmware?

Thanks for replying.
Yes, I have tried repeatedly to unlock the phone's bootloader, but without success (see the attached screenshot).

I also have the phone's stock firmware.

run the command "adb version"
if you are not on the adb latest version i.e adb 1.0.41 then download latest platform tools @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-17104.html and retry the bootloader unlock commands

Thanks, X3non. I observed that I had version 1.0.32 installed.

However, upon upgrading to 1.0.41 as you advised, I still got the same results (i.e., the bootloader resists unlocking).

Thanks in anticipation.

very unlikely you'll be able to unlock the bootloader of this device, see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21403.html ; maybe you'll find something interesting
seeing as you are trying to root, you could try flashing magisk patched boot using qfil or miracle box e.g https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-31476.html OR https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-26213.html
use the firehose programmer file from your stock firmware
