you don't necessarily need twrp to flash gsi roms, what you need
unlock bootloader @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
disable dm_verity by flashing empty vbmeta @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html
setup adb and fastboot @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-588.html ; use the text guide in method 1
flash the rom using fastboot e.g "fastboot flash system system.img"
wipe userdata using fastboot e.g "fastboot -w"
