Hello hovatek. I have an infinix hot3 LTE running android version 5.1.1. I've been trying to unlock the bootloader for weeks now using different methods, but all to no avail. I want to install twrp as well as custom ROMs. Android debugging is enabled, drivers successfully installed, allow oem unlock also enabled from developers option, phone already rooted with kingroot and adb can detect phone even in fastboot mode. Unlocking the bootloader from there gives me failed error (failed, remote device: OEM not unlocked) or something like that. I have tried flashing the custom recovery via flashify android app, it was flashed but, booting to recovery trips off the phone and I'll have to boot it on again by removing and putting back the battery or long pressing power button for about 10 to 13 seconds. Phone doesn't soft/hard brick during that process. Has anybody had same issue like me and gotten it resolved? Please help.

adb does not work when the phone is in fastboot mode, only fastboot does
did you confirm if the bootloader is locked? and try all possible available unlock commands? see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
lastly, where / how did you get the twrp? cause clearly the twrp doesn't seem to be for your device (build). flash back your stock recovery and confirm that you can boot to recovery mode

Pardon my error, I meant fastboot not adb. I got the twrp from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=183308 it was linked to another website which gave a tutorial on how to install it on the infinix hot 3 LTE. And yes, when I restored my stock recovery, I was able to get back to my recovery mode. Phone doesn't trip off as when I flashed the twrp. I have followed the guidlines, yet I couldn't get it to work. Bootloader doesn't unlock.

zip and upload your stock recovery.img
what's the build number of your device? whats the kernel version? both can be found at settings > about phone
is there any error message when you try to unlock bootloader? if yes what's the error message? attach a screenshot

try the TWRP @ https://mega.nz/file/CaBmGCxS#7eLDMLmSfT...6-Dksp_pGU
did you enable oem unlocking in settings before proceeding to attempt to unlock the bootloader?
what's the outcome of "fastboot oem unlock_supported" and "fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability" ?

Hi Xenon. Thanks for your replies on this issue. I did try the twrp you shared, but I had the same issue. I flashed it using flashify but it didn't work as it trips off the phone while trying to enter recovery mode as it did with the other recoveries I downloaded. I had to restore stock recovery again. Yes, my 'allow OEM to be unlocked' is toggled on. When I tried the command "fastboot oem unlock_supported" here's what I got.

(Please is there a way I can attach screenshots here without external links?)

doesn't seem like unlocking bootloader is supported for your device model. no point poking any further
i just noticed there's a slight issue with the stock recovery, how did you get this stock recovery.img?
i believe your device is rooted right? try this
backup recovery using rashr apk (download the app from playstore)
unpack the recovery.img from rashr using AIK from xda forum @ https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr...?t=2073775
you should get two folders after a successful unpack
don't make any modifications, just repack back using the repackimg.bat
if successful, you should get image-new.img
try unpacking the image-new.img and let me know if it unpacks successfully or not

I backed up my stock recovery using flashify android app. I like that of Rashr more as I have used it before on a previous device.
But trying to back it up using Rashr on this device gave me this error
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10JPOIHq...p=drivesdk I think it's a permission request but I don't know how to go about it.
So I decided to use flashify and it worked for both the kernel and the recovery. That's how I got to backup my stock recovery. If there's a problem with that, is there any other method I can use to backup the stock recovery?
Note: Restoring the backup from flashify works perfectly as it brings it back to stock recovery and I can boot into it with no problems. Thanks.

Update: I tried unpacking and repacking with the backup I got from using the flashify app I was able to unpack the image. I saw the two folders just as you have said, and I did not make any changes to anything. But, upon repacking, it gave me an error at the end, and no image-new.img was created.
