My infinix x626 was good as new but I learned about GSIs and wanted to install one. In one go I unlocked the bootloader and flashed twrp both via ADB commands. (I downloaded the one specific for my phone from an xda thread) But my phone went on a bootloop. Downloaded the stock firmware from hovatek (the only stock rom that worked). Phone was in orange state till then

After flashing stock rom I was able to unlock bootloader via adb without any problem. Then I installed magisk patched boot.img too and got root access as well. But everytime I install twrp recovery.img via adb it goes into bootloop.

There is another way to install twrp.img from the phone itself which needs root access (flashify). I did it too but again phone went on a bootloop.

I tried flashing the empty vbmeta.img(s) I found from both xda and hovatek. None of it seems to work.

My phone's stock vbmeta.img is not named as vbmeta _signed.img yet the empty vbmeta img is not working

there's the possibility that the twrp isn't meant for your model or build which would result to bootloop
seeing as you were able to achieve root without bricking the phone, then the empty vbmeta works (it's not only meant for cutom recovery)
you can try porting twrp using your stock recovery and our tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21839.html

lastly, this is someone's thread, if you still have problems then create a new thread for your device issue by clicking "Ask Question" at the top
