[Please help] Custom recovery port for UNIWA F50
[Please help] Custom recovery port for UNIWA F50
(26-01-2020, 10:40 PM)Alpamayo Hi, I'm badly trying to make a custom recovery for my UNIWA F50 (also known as QINGOO F3). I started with Mediatek Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.0 which didn't work at all (the phone rebooted to system), then I tried MTK Auto Philz Recovery Porter V1.5 and the recovery I got had huge characters and was unmanageable (see pic) https://ibb.co/1JzWByF
My preference goes to TWRP but at this point ANY custom recovery will do. My phone runs on Android 6 and is MTK6735. It's rooted with Magisk and I extracted the stock recovery image with Miracle Box. I have flashed the non working recoveries with FlashTools. My stock recovery is here https://mega.nz/#!UEIziYRY!7GH7EhznpB-1e...YgJ8WOMXkA
Since I'm stuck any help or any pointers would be much appreciated. Thank you

did you try using mtk twrp porter v1.4 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21839.html ?
Yes I did. In fact a few hours ago I had corrected the original post to include mtk twrp porter v1.4. The result is: I get the Teamwin logo flashing in a loop forever. A little "improvement" but still nothing usable.

(28-01-2020, 06:41 PM)X3nonThank you. Unfortunately the phone gets stuck at the Uniwa logo (I had to remove the battery to reboot). I flashed it twice just to be sure.(27-01-2020, 05:19 PM)Alpamayo Yes I did. In fact a few hours ago I had corrected the original post to include mtk twrp porter v1.4. (29-01-2020, 11:44 AM)Alpamayo With any luck I was able to make a working TWRP (3.2.1.0) port for my device (Uniwa F50) and it works just fine. Unfortunately the fonts are VERY VERY small to the point that it's almost impossible to read (magnifying glass needed!)
Can please anybody help me solve this font issue?

(29-01-2020, 01:57 PM)X3nonThank you X3non for your prompt reply. With your help I was able to increase the fonts size to something reasonable. I have one last problem though. As you may see in the attached picture I'm having some trouble with the "dividers" which tend to cut on some of the words. Could you please help me find the right entries of the ui.xml so I can resize them? Thank you again so much.(29-01-2020, 11:44 AM)Alpamayo With any luck I was able to make a working TWRP (3.2.1.0) port for my device (Uniwa F50) and it works just fine. extract the working twrp, edit ui.xml within \ramdisk\twres using software such as notepad++
you'll find font size within ui.xml, you can modify font size > save the file > repack twrp and test to see the outcome
