Recently upgraded to nougat (about 1.4gb download) and found that the system update app found another update on top of that, as seen in the screenshot provided.
I tapped downloaded and install while leaving it to charge but it failed to unzip the package afterwards and told me to download and try again. So I did but now it's just stuck on the "unzipping package" part.

Please help. Thank you.

edit: it just gave the same error. Unzip failed, check the update and download and try again.

try the fix @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19770.html
but looking at the build number on your screenshot, it's likely you'll get another prompt to install another update immediately after installing the current update
you could backup your current firmware using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html
then download X557-H807AD-N-190220V181 firmware (seems to be latest from infinix) @ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WlDNE2h...vYoTa/view and flash using sp flash tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html

I didn't receive email notification of this reply so this morning I just tried downloading again while I was getting ready to head out. I then checked my phone after a class ended and it had the Install option. So I tapped that and the phone went to the Infinix logo and had the blue bar showing progress.
I plugged in the charger and returned to class while that was happening and later checked back and now it has the Infinix logo (i.e. the boot screen) with no blue bar. Which I take to mean the process is complete but it's stuck on this screen now and has been for over a hour. Is it safe to do a hard reboot? Should I wait it out? Or take it home and just flash the latest update, after downloading it to my computer? Or would I have to flash the 1.4gb build first (which I would download from the Hovatek forums)?

(I've corrected the email subscribed now, sorry about earlier)

Can you tell me why that is? Is my build shown in that screenshot the 3rd last build? (so after this update I would have one more...?)

depends on how long you've waited on the infinix logo screen, if a few hours then you can force reboot (hold power button till device restarts) then see if it boots up properly
if you decide to flash the seemingly latest update, do not forget to make a firmware backup first and you can download the files to your phone but you'll need a computer to flash (the items you need are all in my previous reply)

Judging from the most recent build number provided by infinix i.e the 190220 build in my previous reply, one can only guess there'll be more updates in between and as for how many more updates in between, only infinix team can really tell OR someone who has the same phone model and has performed each update one after the other till the very last one

ok it's been about 4 hours now.
I'll just flash the update you linked. In the SP Flash Tool, what would I be selecting? Android? Recovery? Bootimg?

the firmware backup is still useful even if the latest update didn't go properly? Ok I'll back that up too, I'll be back in a couple hours with updates

tick everything when flashing, untick preloader and flash using download only in sp flash tool, and yes firmware backup is useful even if the update didn't go properly

Won't that result in data loss from my phone? I'd like to avoid that, could we put that as plan B?

Also I've a problem in that my phone won't turn off. I can only make it restart.

EDIT: managed to turn phone off
miraclebox

Open Port Err:
  ***  the Port be occupied.
  Waiting for USB Port...
  Waiting for USB Port...
>>none usbport, maybe driver not installed

EDIT2: So I found on a hard drive I have that I have a firmware for this phone already backed up

I followed the Google Drive link to the updated Os you linked me
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1WlDNE2hA...t=download
and it says too many people have downloaded it.
Can you make a copy/mirror for me?

EDIT 3: Found this, downloading will take a long time though, keeps stopping

If this ***** one is reliable.. it's faster
https://mshare.io/file/bUaStz
but only 1.3gb instead of 1.5gb

I downloaded this but it apparently is a damaged archive. sigh.

And the Other one just keeps cutting out because I guess I don't have fast enough download speeds or something Idk

A mirror of the Drive would be best if anyone has it...?

EDIT: Ok I managed to download it. trying to flash now.

Ok, I have the driver installed and I'm trying to flash but when I plug into the usb port nothing happens on SP Flash. Is my cable too slow or something? The phone shows that it's charging (from my computer) with the picture of an empty battery with a yellow lightning bolt but that's all the reaction I get. Same as when I was trying to use miraclebox. But I've updated the driver and checked that it's the only driver there.

(27-06-2019, 01:23 PM)Esquilaxm ...

for your driver problem, uninstall all mtk and vcom drivers using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7660.html
install vcom preloader driver using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
then retry, you can also retry while holding vol down button before connecting the phone and OR try a different usb cable or port on the PC

PS: incase of another time, see google drive quota exceeded fix @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-27594.html
