I have techno F3 with variant number of v98 but am unable to get the exact variant online can I use different variant number to flash the phone

You can use Tecno F3 (F3-H8022AC-N-181220V155) [Factory / Signed] from https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23176.html, but first, make a backup of your current firmware
