Hello team H, please i am trying to flash custom recovery for tecno c5 got from ur page but when I turn off phone and connect, sp just stays in download mode. Is there something missing? Nb. I have mtk preloader installed as i use same system for infinix x506. Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by it stays in download mode?
What's version of OS system are you running on your pc? (Win 7/8/10)

also whats wrong with the phone and how did the problem start?

The phone is fine i only want to flash custom recovery so i can root it. Pc os is win7 with drivers installed. When i click download on spft witb phone off nothing happens, no sound from the system and sp stays that way until i remove the usb cord.

try uninstalling all vcom drivers using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7660.html
reinstall vcom drivers using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html . you can then try and see if sp flash tool detects the phone.

Also, you can simply root with magisk manager and boot.img @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html without flashing custom recovery.

You said, no sound from system.
Are you sure about the ports on both the phone and PC?
You should try another cable, PC and check phone port.

Both pc and phone ports are fine cos usb debugging pops up. Is it possible to flash recovery with fastboot mode?

when using SPft, phone should be turned off and also try increasing vol on the PC to max and listen for the connection sound OR better still launch device manager and check if it refreshes when you connect the phone to the PC

you can also flash using fastboot
setup adb and fastboot @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-588.html
