Tecno Camon X CA7 Auth File error. Can't flash phone
#1

Hi..  I tried flashing my Tecno Camon X CA7 with SP Flash Tool and the stock Rom I got from hovatek and also with the DA file I downloaded here on hovatek,  but it keeps giving me an Auth file error..

"ERROR: STATUS_SEC_AUTH_FILE_NEEDED (0x0030012)"

Please I need help in solving this problem..

My phone can no longer boot. . I just see the charge light when plugged to my computer or a charger..

PS.  I made a mistake and used the SP Flash tool's "Format + Download " Option while trying to load the new firmware..  This made my phone seize to boot..

I will be happy if someone can help me out..  Thanks..

Did you take note of the build number before flashing?
Use these methods https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16005.html to find your build number .
I think you will need to open the phone.

Thanks for your help. .

I Had to open the phone to get the build number but got confused cos I didn't know which one was the build number..

So I took 2 images so that you help me out detect which one is the build number. .

...

full build number is usually never indicated on the board. at this point, if you don't remember the original then it'll have to be by trial and error
you'll need to try flash both firmwares listed @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23177.html
try using software download tool (latest version) @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23708.html to flash. lets know the outcome

You can always find the build number on the Specification Manual in the phone's box. It's on page 07 of the manual.

good addition, but that's only great if you're the owner of the phone and still have the manual available
