I was using the older version but now I've switched to the latest version which is working just that the full backup have been going on for about 4hrs, yet still@ 47%

My phone is in good condition. I'm only looking for means to backup up before proceeding with rooting

if you don't mind leaving out your userdata, then skipping userdata and cache should make backup faster

I have been able to backup using NCK MTK but the file has no extension, is it normal?

After backup with NCK MTK, I tried loading the scatter file with SPft, but i got an error message

Use the wwr method you were onto before, leave out user data and cache as X3non suggested, and make sure you have uninterrupted power supply.

Most times, its not possible to flash back NCK readback, unless you were careful about it and use NCK for the flashing.
