I have used both the twpr porting tool and phiz porting tool 

when I flash either of the ported recoveries, the phone will not boot at all. No bootloader menu, nothing. Just a constant rebooting, (but screen never comes on) 

I have to use spflash tool and keep holding the volume button until the phone does a reboot cycle, at which point preloader is caught by flash tool.

***NOTE**
same thing happens (no-screen and constant rebooting) when I flashed the boot.img with a kernel built from the sources released from BLU.

Boot.img patched with magisk manager flashed with no problem. And this should have disabled dm-verity.



A different device (possibly clone) with same chip the " Vivo Y83"  says that twrp should be flashed to "recovery-ramdisk" but I do not see this as an available partition in the "BLU-VIVO-XL4", not by the fstab file at least.

Android OS: 8.1

which option did you select in our tool, 8.1 or 8.1g?
Do you have the factory (stock) rom?

I used 8.1 with the twrp tool (same as what stock rom should be)

Only option on philz. Tool was 8.1 go

Do not have "factory" stock rom, only sp flash tool read back.

I do not know for sure the source. But another member from xda, just shared his ported twrp. It looks like his first source was XN-Logos twrp.

it works, but needs some tweeking. (has wrong fstab..... it has message that it can not connect to a partitin this phone do not have "/cust" )

Only thing other than the port source that I can think of , as to why this one worked is the other user used carliv kitchen to do the port , and not osmosis' AIK, that I think you tool is using.

yes, do share the working twrp
btw the tool used doesn't matter and there are different versions of the porting tool using different extraction tool and port twrps (which is why its good to try all versions on our list)

I actually have it in same folder with the stock rom linked couple posts up.
There is a v1.and v2(fixed mount point) for vivo xl4.

And twrp 1 and 2 for vivo xi / xi+
Have not tested those 2, the other person who shared says they work on his vivo xi

and Hanuma50 (xda and 4pda) has also shared a working twrp with the forum 
  Both V1 and V2 load, and function. at time of my testing, ADB , MTP did not work
