I want to port a custom ROM for my Camon CX Air and download the port ROM From the link below

and the system folder is compressed to system.new.dat so I used MTK Extractor to extract, it becomes extracted to system.img succesfully but when I try to extract system.img MTK Extractor Unable to extract it.

I used Ext4unpacker but it says "unknown file format"

Finally I used ASSAYED KITCHEN by changing the name to userdata.img and cache.img it becomes extracted but the 2.27GB System.img Extracted to 840MB and 720MB respectively.

N.B--- I RENAME system.img TO userdata.img AND catche.img BECAUSE ASSAYED KITCHEN DONT HAVE OPTION TO EXTRACT system.img

----I USED ANOTHER FIRMWARE DOWNLOADED FROM THE SAME SITE BUT I FACED THE SAME PROBLEM.

PLEASE HELP ME! IS THERE A WAY TO EXTRACT IT?

the system.img you got after converting from .new.dat, extract it using the same mtk extractor 'Android 4.x'
that should work

I tried it but shows some loading and then mark as finished but not extracted, also i try to extract my stock rom system.img at that time it works

It becomes extracted when I used the older version of mtk extractor 2.6.1 but the size is very small 2.26GB system.img becomes 790MB. Is this a problem or not? can I continue to port it to my phone?

What I mean is before extracting system.img jts 2.27GB when I extract it becomes 790MB of system folder

its very normal for system folder to be smaller in size compared to system.img but cant say if the contents you got as final extract is complete or not. only the dev can verify the contents
