Good morning engr(s) 
My friend infinix hot 6 got tampered with, so it became locked. I have been trying to boot into recovery mode to reset the phone, but everything proved abortive.
Pls how do I go about this. Thanks

No...Its not booting into recovery mode...
I tried booting into recovery mode with power button + volume up. 
But my little research, shows infinix hot 6 is powered by snapdragon not the usual MTK chipset

vol+ and plug charger or
vol- and plug charger or
vol- and power or
power and vol + immediately the phone comes on

Apart from the aspect of plugging charger to the phone when trying to boot into recovery mode. 
But Pls is they another, incase this suggestion fails, the phone is just one week old. 
I'm thinking of just flashing a new stock Rom to the phone.

Most time...it will just Show the android image, then switch on automatically.

recovery mode is vol up + power button not the other way round
you can try booting into factory mode; vol down + power button
and hot 6 is mtk, hot 6 pro is qualcomm - check properly which of the two you're dealing with
also can you tell us what you meant by the device was tampered with?
