i have a problem getting the whole build number since it was not complete on the handset .i flashed with both
X554-W90918-A2-L-20160304 and Infinix_X554_W90918_A2_L_20160304 though both produces faded display

you sound unsure about the build number, how did you verify its X554-W90918-A2 ?

i was able to get that part of the build number after i sent the phone to calrcare .on the receipt given.However it is written as i have provided,,,X544 W90918A2 gold 16+1 A2 ...no other information is available.I forgot to write the build number before flashing the device.

The info you've provided is not enough to guess the Build Number. The best thing it can do is to help narrow down your Build Number to X554-W90918A2*******
Since you already flashed, the original Build Number info has been wiped off so its trial and error (from this point) till you get a rom that works.

Both Build Numbers are the same. They were only written differently. Build Numbers are normally written with - not _
