I use gateway ne56r laptop. No Bluetooth. I upgraded the wireless card and Bluetooth works fine only on windows 10.I would prefer to use windows 8. 1 but Bluetooth works only on first boot. After the laptop reboots its no longer discoverable neither can it discover Bluetooth devices. Tried to install drivers from gateway official support not solved.

Try updating the drivers using https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21266.html

when you say i updated my wifi card, you removed the old one and replaced with another one?
what happened to the old wifi card?
how many wifi adapter slots does your PC have?
how many wifi cards are currently installed?

when you replace WiFi card, drivers from official website won't help cause they don't match the new H/W. you need to get the drivers from vendor of that card or use some S/W tool like drivers pack solution or iobit driver booster to search for and install drivers or lets say you got the card from a HP PC as e.g, you can check HP website for WiFi driver for that particular model all depending on how you got the card

also checking from your PC manufacturer website at http://www.gateway.com/gw/en/TH/content/...-downloads , the PC should have bluetooth by default meaning the old card should support bluetooth unless someone changed it
