Hello
I have a Cubot Rainbow MT6580 phone

When i turn off my phone and connect it to the pc via USB cable keeps connecting and reconnecting.
It's doing it ONLY when the phone is off. When its open everything is ok. The connection stays.

Its not pc problem. I have no problem with USB mouse, keybord, flash memories etc
Also tried on my laptop too. Same problem.

Last time i connected my phone turned off with no problem was when it was hard bricked (https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21103.html) and had to flash stock firmware.
Also i made an OTA update since then.

Any ideas?

I want to flash custom recovery with SP Flash tool

I was able to connect my phone both on my pc and my laptop one month ago and since then i did not change anything.
Also i already installed the drivers again on my laptop and the problem still exists.
Furthermore i can see on device manager the phone when its connecting and disappear when its disconnecting.
So i dont think its the drivers.

Try this.
Load the scatter file in SP flash tool (don't click Download yet)
Power off the phone (with battery in, don't press any button) then connect to PC. Next, click download in SP flash tool. Let me know if that works

It worked but in diffrent order. I clicked download in SP flash tool and then connected the phone to PC.
Thank u very much!!!

Did it work cause the size of the recovery file was small and managed to download before it got disconnected?
What will happen if i have to flash a rom? Will it make it or it will stop in the middle of the procedure?

mtk devices just has so many ways to try connecting, some devices will require that you hold either of the vol buttons before they'll connect etc
but once it connects and download starts then it shouldn't disconnect not unless you manually disconnect the USB cord yourself

Ideally, you were supposed to click download before connecting (battery in, no buttons pressed) as you did....unless you'd been doing something else all along

I turned the phone off, removed the battery and i was waiting for automatic installation of the drivers before flash anything. When i saw the message "the device is disconnected" i was afraid to root the phone with the normal procedure.

I hope you are right because the phone disconnected a few seconds after flashing the recovery file.

Here lies the fault. You were not supposed to take out the battery ( https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html )
