In order to transfer airtime from one MTN line to another MTN line, you'll need a secret PIN. This PIN should be kept private to avoid unauthorized transfers.

How to change your transfer PIN from the default 0000

For first-time use, you will need to activate / change your transfer PIN from the default. The default PIN is 0000. You can change your PIN via USSD or SMS.

How to activate your PIN via SMS

* Send the following via SMS to 777 to activate your new pin 0000 yournewpin yournewpin . E.g

0000 1234 1234

* 0000 represents your default PIN
* 1234 represents your new PIN,
* The repeated 1234 is a confirmation of your new PIN

How to activate your PIN via USSD

To activate your transfer PIN via USSD, dial *601*0000*newpin*newpin# then press the send button. E.g

*601*0000*1234*1234#

If entered correctly, you will receive a message that your pin has been changed successfully.
