pls is thr any software that can crack a password protected .rar file. i have this firmware from gem-flash.com. its password protected n the dude has refused to share the correct password. unfortunately he is the only source of the firmware variant i need. (Lenovo A2800-d_S300_141118). any help will b appreciated.

if you search, you'll find a lot of softwares that can perform bruteforce on a passworded file. the problem now is that no one knows how lengthy the password used is. it could consist of 50 characters which could take years to bruteforce.
best not to waste your time trying to get the password not unless you can somehow trick the file owner into releasing the password, instead put the effort into searching for the rom elsewhere or try to take a backup from a phone with similar build.

Yes it will take years to billions of years. Unbeilevable! Each one more character length increases time waiting by many times than previous. For example if password length is 1 character it takes very few seconds,  for 2 characters already few minutes, for 3 characters already few hours, for 4 characters  already few days. Here's software that I tested yesterday and it works, but of course bruteforce is not gonna be useful because of speed. I tested on 3 chars password I made just to verify it works. Gives you weird error (frozen window) if you try rar5, because not compatible with that new format.
