What's wrong with the device and how did the problem start?

Before it got stucked at the Sony logo, I used to do hard reset and it will finally work, but all of a sudden it just didn't come up, now it stays at the Sony logo.

the hard reset you normally do,
is it by pressing the reset hole by the side of the tab OR a factory reset in recovery mode?

Tried both factory reset in recovery and the reset hole by the side.

i'm not sure what android version your device was running on before the bricked, but it seems you can't downgrade to android 3 once you have upgraded to android 4.
using this post at XDA https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos...tcount=176 , we can get the file name of the rom based on android version (the sony links in the post are all dead so its down to search for alternatives)

e.g for SGPT111US/S
Android version: 4.0.3 R5 FULL
file name: signed-nbx03_001-ota-120914044
