The Gionee M6 (e.g M6_0103_V5506) is powered by the MT6755 (Mediatek Helio P10) SoC and runs on Android 6 (Marshmallow).

How can I root my Gionee M6)?

There are two main steps:
  • Unlocking the Bootloader of the Gionee M6
  • Flashing the Hovatek Philz recovery.img and SuperSU.zip
Procedure

Code:

fastboot boot recovery.img
  • The phone should automatically boot into Philz recovery mode
  • In Philz recovery, you use the Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to select
  • Select Install Zip
  • Navigate to the location of the SuperSU2.78.zip on the SD Card and select it
  • Wait till flashing is complete
  • If you are prompted to fix root, select No
  • Reboot the phone normally
  • Confirm Root by installing and running Root Checker

Important Notice
You can also root using Magisk manager

Hello,

I followed all the instructions. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the custom recovery. Upon reboot I get:
"Device has been unlocked and can't be trusted. Device will reboot in 5 seconds."
But nothing happens. The Gionee logo just stays there. I have tried rebooting into recovery without success. I can only boot into fastboot. I did so and reflashed the custom recovery. Same result.
Where do I go from here? Do I have to relock the phone? If so how do I do that? Any suggestions?

I followed all the steps and now my M6 is stuck on the boot logo. The offender is the Philz CWM. After flashing Philz the phone rebooted into recovery. I selected "install zip" but then nothing happened. I was not able to see or locate anything on my phone. I guess I need to get Philz off and return to stock recovery. I have tried SP Flash tool with no success. How do I proceed from here?

fastboot boot recovery.img does not overwrite your stock recovery.
the systemless root also doesn't write to system.
The entire process is amied at smooth reversibility.
Unless something else happened you're unable to recall then you shouldn't be having this issue
Can you still boot into recovery? and what recovery is it?
