It does not concern vbmeta itself, but what it contains, boot, recovery, etc. Each file has a written key.

If you ever create your custom vbmeta, you have noticed the keys folder, contains the keys ? key_recovery.bin, your recovery key has changed, you must also change the one in vbmeta.

Please sir, here is your vbmeta
https://mega.nz/file/iR1ShDQA#EWjopgUfN-...sJ-a1esIH8

Note that the original key:
Chain Partition descriptor:
Partition Name: recovery
Rollback Index Location: 2
Public key (sha1): d9093b9a181bdb5731b44d60a9f850dc724e2874

has changed, to your required:
Chain Partition descriptor:
Partition Name: recovery
Rollback Index Location: 2
Public key (sha1): 2597c218aae470a130f61162feaae70afd97f011

Upload this file, then your patched recovery, it should not be a problem.

I was able to flash in the vbmeta image now, I was also able to flash in the recovery now, but it didn't root. Sad

I guess I can't help you with that, you probably didn't save the log from magisk?
Or try this recovery:

The log is not necessary, just to check if an error has occurred.

No error occurred though, It saved it to my downloads folder, at least AFAIK, it means it succeeded, but let me try the one you provided above.

@Gargoyle has carried out the test and it appears your Itel does allow vbmeta modification.
Now that you are able to flash the magisk patched recovery, how you boot up matters. You must boot straight to recovery mode after flashing the magisk patched recovery. Allowing the device to boot to home screen will cause stock recovery to replace magisk-patched recovery. Any attempt to boot into recovery mode at this point will fail since the signature in vbmeta doesn't match stock recovery
You're to power off (after flashing the recovery to recovery partition in fastboot).
Use the technique @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32663.html
From off state, you attempt booting into recovery mode. The phone should boot normally. Check for root then
You could also try magisk manager canary version
