Hi, I have a Tecno spark 4 air KC6, with a MT6761 chip.
I followed the tutorials in these links :

download DA file @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23243.html
make a firmware backup @ (miracle thunder) @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html (sp flash tool is not supporting the mt6761)
unlocked bootloader @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
disabled dm_verity by flashing empty vbmeta @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html
patch boot and root using magisk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html

It all went ok, made a backup using miracle thunder, bootloader unlocked (I have now the orange state message, but it's not bothering me),disabled dm_verity by flashing the empty vbmeta in the tutorial, patched boot.img (I got boot.bin from the backup by miracle thunder, so renamed it to boot.img as suggested in the comments), flashed the patched boot using fastboot. But still no root. Magisk 23. Android 9.

I tried the Mediatek Auto TWRP, but I get the dead android when I try to boot to recovery, so I reflashed the stock recovery.

Thanks a lot for helping me

I checked out boot.img for this model. It has no ramdisk so you can't root via magisk-boot combo, rather it has to be magisk-recovery

https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21839.html

I managed to get temporary root following this guide :

https://www.hovatek.com/blog/how-to-gain...rk-go-kc1/

The phone doesn't recognise sim card when booting recovery, it gets sim card back after normal reboot

You'll have to manage this or seek a pre-rooted GSI

Can we get a screenshot of what magisk say?

While patching boot image ensure to untick recovery mode,it will work if u can install a custom GSI based on a10.(not 11)
