[Please help] Oukitel WP5-PRO
[Please help] Oukitel WP5-PRO
(25-09-2020, 11:37 AM)Alpamayo Hi, I hope this is the right section.
I own an Oukitel WP5-PRO (which has a secure boot).
I'm looking for the right Download Agent (DA) for spFlashTools compatible with my phone, because I'm having a hard time getting root.
Thank you
Mike

state the phone's build no.
did you unlock the phone's bootloader? refer to https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
(25-09-2020, 05:53 PM)Alpamayo Yes the bootloader is unlocked. Regarding the other info here is a screenshot: https://ibb.co/SJq2LYb
Thank you
Ps I installed Magisk Manager (unflagged "Keep AVB2.0/dm-verity), patched the boot image and with flashtools uploaded your (empty) vbmeta and the patched boot. No joy.
I also did the same with fastboot with the --disable-verification --disable-verity arguments while flashing vbmeta. No success whatsoever. Magisk Manager keeps saying that Magisk is not installed.
I also created a TWRP recovery with your 1.7 tool but the recovery doesn't even start. I really don't know what else I should try.

Download Agent only enables you flash, not gain root.
Since you've been able to flash to the phone using flash tool, you clearly don't need a DA..unless you meant to say you flashed via fastboot
Anyway, it looks like your Android 10 isn't yet supported by Magisk
You could try Magisk Canary version
(26-09-2020, 02:33 PM)Alpamayo Thank you hovatek. As per your suggestion I tried Magisk Canary version 8b29267a (20426) but nothing changed
In your opinion is there any other way to root this phone? (besides Magisk)?
Thanks
(26-09-2020, 02:33 PM)Alpamayo PS Regarding my request for a "special" DA file. I'm asking because my device uses a SECURE BOOT, and in your video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj4iFakq33M at minute 5.26 you said: "in spflastools ensure to load YOUR DA file if you're using a SECURE BOOT device ... but I'm not using a secure boot device so I'll be using the Default Download Agent in spflashtools".
That's why I thought a special DA file was necessary for my device with secure boot!!
(28-09-2020, 11:42 AM)X3nonWell, actually in the screenshot of fastboot I took it CLEARLY says: SECUREBOOT : YES Please take a look: https://ibb.co/NYYybV4(26-09-2020, 02:33 PM)Alpamayo Thank you hovatek. As per your suggestion I tried Magisk Canary version 8b29267a (20426) but nothing changed

lets verify if
first flash empty vbmeta and magisk patched boot just like you did before
then use the scatter file for your device to readback boot and vbmeta partition ; see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-526.html for how to readback
if successful, zip and upload both boot and vbmeta from the readback
while at it, also try porting twrp using the tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21839.html

from one of your replies, you mentioned that you were able to flash vbmeta using spft. it's presumed that you used the default DA in spft
if that is correct then the device doesn't have secure boot and as such doesn't require a custom da
(28-09-2020, 12:12 PM)Alpamayo Well, actually in the screenshot of fastboot I took it CLEARLY says: SECUREBOOT : YES Please take a look: https://ibb.co/NYYybV4

can you confirm if you were able to flash vbmeta using spft or not?
(29-09-2020, 09:47 AM)Alpamayo Yes, I flashed vbmeta with spft.
