[Please help] Tecno C9 Pro - Nougat Wanted

I want to have Android Nougat etc on my Tecno C9 Pro. What are my options please? I know I have to root my device first and I have seen tutorial here on how to go that.
After I root my device, what next? Can I just install any of the custom rom like LineageOS, MIUI etc? or what list of custom rom have I restricted to?

There's no official Nougat update for C9 Pro so what you're looking for is a C9 Pro Nougat custom rom (if there's one)

Yes, I understand that there is no Official Nougat, am asking if I can get Nougat custom rom for Tecno C9 Pro. Isn't that the major reason people root their device?
