There have since been several minor OTA updates (almost every 2 months), the last being the January 2017 Build (X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20170118) so we felt its time to drop another Dump to make rolling back easy for Hot 2 users. This ROM Dump is SP Flash Tool compatible.

Why would I need a ROM Dump?

The Infinix Hot 2 has received several OTA updates since launch, ranging from minor (e.g Infinix Hot 2 X510 December 2016 update ) to version updates (e.g Infinix Hot2 X510 Lollipop to Marshmallow update). If you’ve rooted or modified your ROM, you would have to flash back the stock ROM (thereby unrooting your MTK) before installing the target OTA update to avoid bricking your phone. Now, lets assume the Stock ROM you have is Lollipop or the January 2016 Marshmallow Build Number and your last build was the September 2016 build after which you rooted. To install the October 2016 OTA, you would have to flash back your Lollipop / January 2016 Marshmallow firmware then install all OTA updates from February till December. This is data and time intensive as opposed to having a recent ROM Dump to help you unroot so you’re just one or 2 OTA updates away from your target update.

X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20170118 SP Flash Tool ROM Dump

Note: This is not an official firmware from Infinix. Team Hovatek dumped the firmware of a copy of the Infinix Hot 2 X510 (2+16) which had been successfully upgraded to Marshmallow (Android 6.0) January 2017 Build.

Download the Infinix Hot2 X510 January 2017 ROM Dump (X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20170118) and flash using SP Flash Tool.

This ROM Dump is stock & non-rooted so you can install future OTA updates without a hastle.
