The userkey.psw file can be saved to a CD\/DVD or USB drive during creation or the Password Reset Disk<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"important\">How can I create a Password Reset Disk?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Creating a Password Reset Disk is pretty easy. To create one:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect a USB \/ Flash drive to the PC<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Press the Windows button or Start menu<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Search for Create a Password Reset Disk<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Alternatively, go to Control panel &gt; User Accounts and Family Safety &gt; User Accounts &gt; Click on \u201cCreate a Password Reset Disk\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">In the \u2018Welcome\u2019 dialogue box, click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Select the USB drive you wish to use as a Password Reset Disk from the dropdown then click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Type your Windows password (the one for the user account you\u2019re currently logged into) to confirm then click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">A progress bar will load, wait till its 100% complete then click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Click \u201cFInish\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Copy the userkey.psw file to a safe location<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"important\">How do I use a Password Reset Disk?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Using a Password Reset Disk to regain access to your PC is pretty simple:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boot the PC and wait till it gets to the Login Window<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Type an incorrect password then click \u201cOK\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">You should get an Incorrect password error, click \u201cOK\u201d to return to the Login Window<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Click \u201cReset Password\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">The Password Reset Wizard will open, click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Select the drive (from the dropdown menu) where the userkey.psw file is located then click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Supply the new password you wish to use, retype it to confirm, provide a password hint (to remind you of your password) then click \u201cNext\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">The Password Reset Wizard will update you password, click \u201cFinish\u201d to complete.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"important\">Can I use the Password Reset Disk i just created to gain access to another Window\u2019s PC?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>No. The Password Reset Disk is PC specific.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"important\">Windows keeps telling me password incorrect despite entering the correct password.
