QFIL-flashable firmware come in either Flat or Meta build and require the device in <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/forum\/thread-21791.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Emergency Download Mode (EDL)<\/a> \/ <strong>Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008<\/strong> for flashing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s the difference between Flat build and Meta build?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The difference is in the content of the firmware and folder structure. Flat build contains patch.xml in the same folder with other files while Meta build contains contents.xml in the root of the folder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who are new to using this tool for flashing, here&#8217;s a crash course<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"youtubewrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube lazy-loaded-video\" data-embed=\"W9Cz4LwAzLg\">\n<div class=\"play-button\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also have a course on <strong>Qualcomm Software Repairs<\/strong> so check it out at <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/training\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/training<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sahara Fail error in QFIL<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With QFIL, one error you&#8217;ll eventually encounter is the Download Fail:Sahara Fail: QSaharaServer Fail: Process fail error . <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"707\" height=\"274\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/blog\/bpyeki\/uploads\/2020\/07\/sahara-fail-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/blog\/bpyeki\/uploads\/2020\/07\/sahara-fail-1.png 707w, https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/blog\/bpyeki\/uploads\/2020\/07\/sahara-fail-1-300x116.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/blog\/bpyeki\/uploads\/2020\/07\/sahara-fail-1-640x248.png 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 707px) 100vw, 707px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a number of reasons you might get this error so lets dive into them plus their fixes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Causes of QFIL Sahara fail and solutions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Incompatible firmware<\/strong>: If you&#8217;re trying to flash a wrong firmware or variant of your device then you could run into this error<\/li><li><strong>Using an old QFIL version<\/strong>: You might run into this error when using an old version of QFIL relative to your device. Head over to our <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/forum\/thread-25314.html\" target=\"_blank\">QFIL collection<\/a> to download the latest version.<\/li><li><strong>Using QFIL standalone<\/strong>: There are two formats of QFIL; one which is co-installed with <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/forum\/thread-22467.html\" target=\"_blank\">QPST<\/a> and <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hovatek.com\/forum\/thread-25314.html\" target=\"_blank\">QFIL standalone<\/a> . If you&#8217;re encountering Sahara fail while using the standalone then install the latest version of QPST and use the QFIL that comes with it.<\/li><li><strong>Incompatible programmer file<\/strong>: You&#8217;ll usually find multiple programmer files (with <strong>firehose<\/strong> in the name) in your firmware. If you do then consider trying the others in the firmware. If not, try a different factory firmware.<\/li><li><strong>Space in file path<\/strong>: Check the file path to your firmware and ensure there&#8217;s no space in any of the directory names e.g have <em>C:\\Users\\Hovatek\\Desktop\\Hovatek_files\\QFIL_Qualcomm<\/em> instead of <em>C:\\Users\\Hovatek\\Desktop\\Hovatek files\\QFIL Qualcomm<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Entering EDL too early<\/strong>: Entering and leaving the device in EDL for too long before flash could cause a Sahara error due to timeout.
